- 1 Each Apple (Peeled and grated)
- 4 Cups Sangria (Alternatively sweet red wine)
- 1 Tablespoon Cinnamon
- 1 Each Cabbage (Small head)

- Slice the cabbage and put it into a large bowl with the wine, allowing it to soak overnight (at least 8 hours). Also, put the cinnamon and salt into this blend and mix it regularly. Drain, reserving the liquid. Melt the butter in a frying pan, transferring the shredded cabbage into it. Brown gently, sprinkling the sugar over top to help caramelize the mix. Return the wine blend to the cabbage and simmer for another 50 minutes. Add the apple and cook for 15 more minutes.
Recipe Notes
If possible, create this dish when the sun is high in the sky (because Yule celebrates the return of sun and the lengthening of days).
If you’re not fond of apple, this is actually quite tasty with sliced carrots. You will want to steam the carrots to firm-tender stage and add them during the last 15 minutes of cooking as you would the apple. This attracts luck.
